• NATIONAL MASTERS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 3RD FEBRUARY The Scottish Athletics National Masters Cross Country Championships will take place at Dean Castle Country Park, Dean Road, Kilmarnock KA3 1XB on Saturday, 3rd February 2018.

Race timetable: 1300hrs (declarations close 1230hrs): Women (over 40) and Men M65 and over (age on race day) - 6,000m 1345hrs (delarations close 1315hrs): Men (over 40) up to M60 (age on race day) – 8,000m

Important Notes (1) the Women’s race and the Men’s 65 and over race will be run together. (2) Teams are Women 3 to score, Men 4 to score or 3 dependent on age. Team medals will be awarded for teams of 4 in Men’s Age Groups M40, M45; and for teams of 3 in Men’s Age Groups M50, M55, M60+. Team medals will be awarded for teams of 3 in Women’s Age Groups W40, W45; an for teams of 3 in Women’s Age Groups W50, W55, W60+. (3) Age category medals (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be awarded in each age category regardless of the number of athletes entered or competing. EAST DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE #3

The final event in the series will be held at Broxburn Academy, Broxburn, EH52 6AG on Saturday January 20th. You don’t have to register for this event. Just turn up on the day and pick up your team number ‘42’ from a designated club rep and run!!

U20/Senior/Masters Women – born before 1/9/2000 13.10 pm Under 15 Girls/Under 17 Women - 13.48 pm Under 20/Senior/Masters Men – born before 1/9/2000 14.15 pm

Any East District club affiliated to Scottish Athletics is eligible to compete. Only first claim members of these clubs may compete. Official club colours must be worn Each club or school that competes in the league has its own club number. In all races athletes wear that club number. Somebody from the club, usually the team manager, hands in a slip of paper after each race with the names of runners in order of finishing. The clubs provides the numbers.

Senior and U17 Women should have an "L" and U20 Women a "J". Masters women should have a "LV" after their club number. In the Senior Mens Race Masters mark a large "V" after their club number while U20 Men mark a large "J" . There is no need to enter or declare on the day. At the end of the season each club pays subscriptions based on the number of finishers in all races through the season.
