The following has been taken from the Constitution of Falkland Trail Runners.
Membership shall consist of officers and members of the Club. All members will be subject to the regulations of the Constitution and, by joining the Club, will be deemed to accept the Constitution and any regulations, policies, codes of conduct, etc. that the Club has adopted.
The Club may offer a number of grades of membership, each conferring a package of benefits set by the Management Committee. Examples of membership grades include (but are not limited to):
- Full membership
- Honorary membership
[Casual Membership was offered in 2016 but was withdrawn with effect from 2017.]
Membership in the Club will be on an annual basis, normally running from 1st April each year to 31 March the following year, but the date may be varied from time to time as the Management Committee deem necessary.
Membership of the Club shall be open to all persons, regardless of sex, age, physical condition or disability, race, colour, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, political or other opinion, religion or other beliefs. However, the club may have to place a limitation on the right to membership, on a non-discriminatory basis, where the support required by an individual would exceed the facilities and / or resources available to the club.
Membership will be restricted to persons who, under relevant legislation in Scotland, are to be treated as an adult.
Honorary membership of the Club may be conferred upon any member by a majority vote of those present at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in recognition of someone who has performed an outstanding service, or who has made an outstanding contribution to the Club.
Individuals who wish to participate in the activities of this organisation shall submit dues annually, and complete an annual application for membership, which includes agreeing to follow the Club's code of conduct, and sign a waiver of liability for participation in all Club activities.
Members may renew their membership of the Club at the start of each Club year by reaffirming their desire to remain a member. Members who have not reaffirmed such a desire, and paid the relevant membership fee, by 30 June will have all benefits of membership suspended.
Any member wishing to resign from the Club must do so in writing or by email to the Secretary. Resignation shall be effective from the date of tendering. Resignations will not be accepted if the member is financially indebted to the Club, and acceptance of the resignation will be withheld until the debt has been discharged.
