Our club was founded to encourage runners of all abilities to come & run with us over the tracks & trails of Falkland Estate and the surrounding area. Our ethos is that nobody gets left behind on the training runs. We have mixed ability groups all who have progressed with structured training.
We were founded in 2012 and quickly became an established part of the running community in Scotland. As a club we now have a strong membership base, and we became affiliated to scottishathletics in 2015. A year later, we joined the Association of Running Clubs.
The club is administered by its Management Committee.
We have a strong community focus and have raised money for Falkland Estate, Falkland War Memorial, Falkland Cricket Club, the 'Friends of Craightoun Park' and many other good causes.
The club welcomes pets to its sessions. All we ask is that you make sure you have your own public liability insurance that covers your pet during sessions and that you follow some simple rules.
We organise trail races throughout the year, and have become infamous for our "water features".
So if you fancy a run with a friendly group then come along to Falkland Community Hall on Sundays at 9.30am or 6:30pm on Thursdays. We have tea/coffee & a chat after run. To cover the cost of rent, refreshments, etc. we ask for a contribution of £1.00 each time you run.
We also have "Hammer Time" sessions on Tuesday evenings in Balbirnie Park, Glenrothes. And a weekly 5k run for our "Get Fit Falkland" graduates also takes place on Tuesday evenings, meeting at the duck pond car pak at the main entrance to Falkland Estate.
