Why is this? Well, although we take our running seriously, we think running should be fun. We're not an organisation that is focused on elite athletes. We don't put any pressure on anyone to do more than they feel is comfortable. We like to hat, mess about a bit and generally have a laugh.

But that doesn't mean we don't make runners faster and stronger. We do! Looking at our members today compared with a year or two ago, they run further, higher and are generally tougher than they ever thought they could be.

We don't really cater for total beginners, though. But if that makes your heart sink, the good news is that there's a good reason for it. We have a group especially for beginners - Get Fit Falkland. Their mission is to take couch potatoes - people who haven't run before or who gave up exercise many years ago - and help them get a little bit more active. In ten weeks, you go from jogging 30 seconds to running 5km!

So, whether you're just thinking about starting to run or are already an accomplished runner, you'll find a welcoming challenge here at Falkland Trail Runners. We meet at Falkland Cricket Club on Sundays at 9.30am.

We also meet at 6:30pm on Thursdays. In summer, Thursday sessions start from the cricket club. In winter, they start from the Community Hall in Falkland (located in the main village car park).
